She played Degrassi’s Christian, virgin until marriage, and not so good girl, Darcy Edwards. But, now she’s taken on a different more Hollywood role as former Kansa and new girl is town, Annie Wilson in the Beverly Hills, 90210 series spin-off, 90210 and couldn’t be happier; with hit show on her plate and fan of her Degrassi day’s still supporting her today why shouldn’t she be? Only thing weren’t always this easy, even though Shenae may not have anything to worry about now, landing the part of Annie wasn’t a piece of pie, “I heard that Hilary Duff had been offered my role.” Said Shenae in an interview; but even with a big star like Hilary in the running this teen starlet didn’t give up hope “I was like, you know if I got to loss out to anybody, someone that’s as established as Hilary Duff ain’t too shabby. And whatever will be will be.

Well, it looks like her positive attitude worked because as we all know she is Annie Wilson and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Grimes, is fully committed to 90210. Still she keeps room in heart for Degrassi, “I couldn’t be more proud of both. I look at Degrassi as like my boot camp to prepare me for this.” It was a groundbreaking thing.” And even with her love for the show, she knew it was her time to graduate from the series and make room for new students. “I felt like, seventh season, I had the best story lines in the world. It doesn’t get much more challenging than that.” I felt like it was time for me to, you know, step off a little bit and let some of the new kids come in.”

Shenae has powerful presence and is versatile to fit different roles; she is one star on the rise that will be sticking around for a while.
